If you’ve been following this humble page of mine for the past couple of months, you’d easily notice that I missed posting a To-Do list last month. Well... I actually didn’t miss it. I did make one but thought of keeping it to myself for last month and decided to just share with you how the month of September went via this monthly rundown post.

DAISO EYEBROW POWDER – First Impression Demo & Review

One of my makeup staples is a good eyebrow powder and since I bought my NYX eyebrow cake powder years ago, I haven’t invested again in another eyebrow powder. I mentioned it in this post how that particular eyebrow powder became the game changer for my brows. So now that I’m about to run out of my NYX brow powder, it’s time to either repurchase the same trusty product or buy a whole new different brow powder.

And this is where DAISO comes in. The best thing about DAISO, aside from the fact that every item costs S$2.00 only, their makeup products are mostly (if not all) dependable and some are even amazingly awesome! I’m still happily using the majority of the makeup products I bought from DAISO last year.

Going back to my eyebrow powder situation, I remember picking up an eyebrow powder from DAISO the last time I went shopping there but totally forgot about it until very recently that’s why I decided to film a First Impression Review on the said item.

After trying it out for the first time and wearing it on my brows for 7 hours, I’m very happy to tell you that it’s definitely a good buy! I had a decent eyebrow makeup for the entire time that I was testing it out even when I did not even set it with a brow mascara. The pigmentation is really okay and and very workable. The only thing I think I would do the next time I use it would be to wet my angled brush before dipping it into the powder to intensify the pigment and then set it with a brow mascara, but other than that, it’s really great!

If it’s your first time to try to an eyebrow powder and you’re not really comfortable spending your moolah on it, simply drop by at the nearest DAISO store and pick out one from there. *wink wink*

THE BODY SHOP TEA TREE FLAWLESS BB CREAM (O1) – First Impression Demo & Review

I tried The Body Shop Tea Tree Flawless BB Cream for the first time and decided, why not film a First Impression Review on it as well.

According to The Body Shop’s website, this BB cream is intended to “perfect complexion and fight the look of blemishes.” I thought at first, “Great! Exactly what I need because I have acne-prone skin.” It even claims to give flawless coverage while tackling the appearance of blemishes. It also says on the website that its lightweight formula will give a shine-free complexion and that they offer 3 shades which blend seamlessly into all skin tones  for natural-looking coverage.

Oftentimes when I pray, I pray about the things that matter to me. I pray that God will help me with this and that. I pray for happiness, for healing, for good health, for safety and protection. I pray for a lot of things. And I think it’s just normal, right? I mean, don’t we all pray for these same things? Don’t you also pray for God to continue to bless you and the people you care about? If you ask me, I pray about these things a lot everyday. I pray for what I need and what I want.

I’m someone who doesn’t care for tags and labels so much. I don’t really care if the clothes or others stuff I own are branded or not. So long as they serve the purpose well, I’m good with that. And when it comes to bags/purses, my motto has always been “the bigger, the better” because I always bring a lot of stuff. Whether I bring a small or a big bag, it’d be always filled with stuff. I seriously don’t know why but I’m like that. I see space and I fill it in. LOL.

On this note, I’d like to share my latest video with y’all. I mentioned in the video that I don’t actually know what the bag is called. All I’m sure of is that we bought it from Victoria Secret and that I’ve never used it without filling it to its full capacity, hehe.

I’m normally not a nosy person but hey! What’s in your bag? *wink wink*

Thoughts Tuesday #2: NEVER STOP PRAYING

Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.
1 Thessalonians 5:17-18

Today on Thoughts Tuesday, I just want to write a reminder post, a note to self. I want myself to remember to never cease praying.

I pray. I pray everyday but when there’s a specific something that I’m praying for, I pray even harder. That’s good, right? Yeah, that’s good. What’s not good is when the intensity of my prayer suddenly goes downhill after receiving the answers to my prayers. Are you also like this sometimes? Or is it just me?

So today, I’m writing this to constantly remind myself to never stop praying. I should never ever stop praying after an answered-prayer the same way I don’t ever stop saying “I love you” to my husband even after getting an “I love you, too” back. Never stop praying and drawing close to God because it’s thru prayers and reading the Word of God that we will become stronger spiritually and grow deeper in our relationship with Him.

DAISO Charcoal Nose Pore Pack - First Impression Demo & Review

A few months ago, I uploaded my first impression review of this Charcoal Nose Pore Pack that I got from DAISO Singapore on my YouTube channel and I just thought I’d share it here, too. The video is in my mother language, though, but the demo part doesn’t need a lot of explanation. After filming and uploading this video, I have tried the product two more times until I gave up because it’s just not working. Good thing it only costs SGD 2.00, otherwise I’d be really bummed out for wasting money on something that doesn’t even do its job. Have you tried this stuff? And did it work on you? I’d really love to know!

A lot happened in August. It may not seem so because I was not updating here often but really… a lot happened.

Thursday, August 31, 2017

It's been a while since I filmed a "routine" video so I figured, why not do one today! Unlike my other routine videos, though, I wanted to keep this raw and simple. No background music. No voiceover. It’s just me doing my fast and simple skincare routine.

By the way, I have oily-combination skin type that is acne-prone and sensitive. I also learned thru trying many products in the past that less is more for my skin. I also didn't use sunscreen in this routine video because when I filmed this, I didn't have any plans of going out. It's not that I always use sunscreen when I go out. What I meant was I use makeup base (bb cream or foundation) that has SPF whenever I'm going out. For products used in the video, please see below:

I first showed this product in my The BodyShop Haul and I've been using this for more than 2 months now. I really like how gentle it is on my skin yet tough on dirt that's why my skin is left fresh and clean after each wash.

I have been using this same toner since November 2016 and it's the reason I have somewhat clearer skin today. I've gone thru some bad skin breakouts in the past and this toner seems to have kept the sanity of my skin.

To know more about my thoughts on this moisturizer, check out my blog post here.

I forgot what variant it is but I mentioned it in my Shopee Haul.

The truth is, I don’t want to write down any to-do list for this month. I guess I’ve been sooo tired in June and July that I just want to rest and re-charge this month. And then I thought, “those will be my to-do things for this month then!”

Tuesday, August 1, 2017

I have to admit that on the first week of July, I got super excited that I started this habit of writing down my thoughts on my phone whenever I can, hence, my to-do list post. It was great! It was spontaneous and I was having fun. But then the thought of my fast approaching birthday suddenly overtook me and made me very ecstatic about celebrating life that I ended up literally having a life and not visiting this page as much as I have planned. Needless to say, I'm super duper mega sorry.

One of the things I never fail to look forward to whenever I’m having my doze of Harry Potter movie-marathon are the scenes where I see those unbelievable tents. You know what I'm saying? I'm talking about their magical tents, which look like your run-of-the-mill tents outside but lo and behold an unexpectedly big and fully furnished interior. Whenever I watch HP movies, I can't help but always imagine how thrilling and amazing it would be to really stay in one of those in real life. It would be awesome! Imagine my exuberance when my hubby showed me for the first time the website of The Canopi Resort.

Serenity Sunday: Let’s Celebrate Life! (16-July-2017)

I used to not pay any attention to my birthday. I even used to think that just thinking about my birthday is already a sign of immaturity. I don’t know how I adopted that ridiculous idea and where or who I got that from but for a long time, I have been avoiding any discussion revolving around my birthday. But this year is different. It was my birthday five days ago and I was very happy to celebrate it because I realized, why shouldn't I?” Birthdays, after all, are a reminder of God's miracle called LIFE. So let us all be happy about our birthdays and let us do our best to celebrate it every way we can! :)

Serenity Sunday: The Little Things (09-July-2017)

When I woke up this morning, the first thing I thought of was, "whoah! i'm still alive." Don't be alarmed. I'm not sick, okay? I'm just amazed that I'm still breathing. You see, I'm a masterpiece of God. And so are you! The awesome fact that I still breathe is purely God's work. It's God's blessing that I still live up to this day to witness God's creations, God's miracles. And so it dawned on me that I don't need to receive anything more than what I am getting every single day from God to call myself blessed. The mere fact I'm alive is reason enough to be thankful.

As usual, my husband kissed me on the lips before he took a bath this morning. He was smiling when he got out of the shower and while he was prepping for work. He's happy and I'm happy. Due to the nature of his job, he has to go to work every other weekend and this is that weekend for him. He reached his office safely and I had a wonderful morning with my sister and her family.

Truly it's the little things that make life wonderful and all these are because of God. He is the beginning and the end. I realized once again that just the thought of God's love is enough to fill me up and keep me going day by day. His grace and mercy are what keeping me alive and well up to this day. And now that my birthday is just two sleeps away, I have nothing but never-ending gratitude to my Father in heaven for sending Jesus Christ for my salvation and for making it possible for me to live this long.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you, Lord. Thank you for all the little things that make my life happy, interesting and wonderful.

My Attempt on the 500-Peso Makeup Challenge Ft. Ever Bilena Cosmetics

This is one of those beauty challenges on YouTube that I have been contemplating on doing for the longest time. I totally love the idea of creating a makeup look using only the products that would fit this budget. That alone is already a challenge but what really challenged me more is the lack of options for me to choose from. I’m currently not in the Philippines and I only have a limited selection of local products in my makeup collection, so it’s literally a daunting task to pick products that would help me create a full-face of makeup without exceeding the allotted 500-peso budget.

Good thing, I have a few items from Ever Bilena that are utterly a life-saver! And I only used a total of 4 products for the makeup look I came up with. If you wanna know how I created my 500-peso makeup look, just watch the video below!

PHP 165.00 - Ever Bilena Matte Two-Way Cake (FAIR ORIENTAL)
PHP 185.00 - Ever Bilena Eyeshadow W/ Blush-On (SET B)
PHP   55.00 - Careline Eyebrow Pencil (BROWN)
PHP   85.00 - Ever Bilena Thick Lash Mascara (BLACK)
TOTAL: PHP 490.00

July, regardless of any situation will remain my favorite month next to December because it's my birthday month!!! Inasmuch as I hate celebrating the fact that I just got older by another year, I can't disregard the fact that I was born in this month and therefore a celebration of life is in order.

This is also that time of the month where I should either be giving myself a pat on the back for a job well done in accomplishing all 5 of my to-do list last month or kicking myself in the butt for what a ridiculous idea to list down 5 things when I can't even accomplish at least one of them. Gosh!

June, by far, is the most memorable month for me this year. I have so many things to be grateful for and words can never be enough to express my gratitude to God for everything He allowed to happen this month.
