Just this past Monday, I uploaded the "The Beauty Yearbook Tag" which is really just like a normal school yearbook where we, as students would be placed under certain categories, only it's a YouTube edition. So here's my video of it. I hope you'll all enjoy watching as much as I did filming it!

Here are the categories and my picks for each:

Get Rid of Blackheads and Whiteheads with Skinmiso Pore Beauty Nose Pack

Got blackheads and whiteheads? Don’t be sad because about 80 to 85 percent of the human population gets to have it, but that doesn’t mean we have to be complacent and not do anything about it. Wait! What are blackheads anyway? For the sake of those who are not familiar with blackheads, take a look at this picture and you’ll instantly know what I’m referring to:

The next question you may have is, what’s the main cause of blackheads? What’s mainly causing it is the overproduction of oil, which only makes it worse for people with oily skin type (poor me). It doesn't  however, mean that people with dry to normal skin type  are totally free from it. In fact, regardless of our skin type  we can all suffer from blackheads due to various reasons other than just overproduction of oil. Now, can we do something about it? Of course! While using a facial scrub on a weekly basis (or it depends on the facial scrub you’re using) can help, it doesn't eliminate blackheads permanently and some facial scrubs are just not that effective. Visiting your derma for an extraction is really effective but could be a little bit painful (depending on your pain tolerance) both physically and well… financially, hahaha.

How about using nose/pore strips? Oh yes! That too, can help. I remember using a few when I was still a teenager (oh gosh, I feel old now!). You know the problem with the typical nose strips? It lures us into thinking that “Hey! Here are all your gunk, your nose is now totally blackhead-free!” but after using it, those blackheads just grow back way faster and worse, even turn into an unexpected acne breakout. Why is that? It is because using normal pore strips or even just the typical squeezing ‘em with our fingertips (don’t tell me you never did that! Hahaha) to remove those blackheads could actually enlarge the size of our pores without us knowing it and could leave a zit or worse, permanent scars on our skin. Sad, isn’t it?

Cheer up! Have you heard or read about Skinmiso Pore Beauty Nose Pack?

It’s a skincare breakthrough in my opinion. It’s NOT like any of the ordinary nose strips I’ve ever tried. If you want to know how to turn a nose from this:

To this:

REVIEW: Skinmiso Pore Beauty Nose Pack and Comedo Remover

I first got a sample of this beauty nose pack in my January Bellabox and tried it after a week of just letting it sit inside the box, untouched. I know I mentioned in my unboxing video that I have never tried a pore strip before but that’s because I forgot that I did try a few when I was younger. Anyway, I used the sample that I got from Bellabox and I liked it, except for the fact that my blackheads managed to sprout back again the next day. I thought it could be because I didn’t get a complete set. I only got Step 1 and Step 2. I was thinking that maybe it could have been different if I also got Step 3. In short, I was quite undecided on whether to write a review about it or not. And besides I only got to try it once. The experience was good but I just really felt it lacked something for me to create a good judgment of this product.

A few days ago, I received an email asking me if I’d be interested to try and review their product. To my amazement, it’s the same pore strip sample I got from Bellabox. Had I not enjoyed the first sample that I have tried, I could have simply just passed on this offer but because I really did like my initial experience with the product, I instantly said yes.

I got the package from them the next day. Wow, that was fast!

So let’s get on with the review proper.

1. Skinmiso Pore Beauty Nose Pack

2. Skinmiso Comedo Remover
  1. S$28.90 - Skinmiso Pore Beauty Nose Pack
  2. S$16.90 - Skinmiso Comedo Remover

  1. 30 Watson’s branches across Singapore
  2. Only available on Bellabox webshop, click HERE

PRODUCT CLAIMS: It claims to painlessly remove blackheads without enlarging the pore size in the process.

JUDGMENT: I wish I have known about this brand years ago because it’s exactly what my nose needs.

I honestly thought I will just be sent a complete sample set of Steps 1-3 but NO! They sent me the whole pack including the comedo remover. Oh gee! Now, there’s just no way, I can’t come up with a very decent review, is there? Hahaha.

1 Step: Its duty is to remove blackheads and whiteheads with its plant extracts.

2 Step: To effectively eliminate blackheads, it contract pores with its witch hazel extract and keeps skin moisturized with its patented materials.

3 Step: It’s a control sebum and gloss which has the ability to absorb oil and keep the skin silky and dry. Its texture and consistency is the same with Benefit POREfessional. So, you probably have already guessed it – I might use it as a face primer. Yay!

Here is Skinmiso Pore Beauty Nose Pack in action:

here’s my nose with the eww! – okay let’s just not talk about my nose here…

1.    Wash your face with lukewarm water and place the first mask onto the nose right in the middle for 10 minutes.

It is not sticky. It is a cold mask, so it feels
really good on the skin.
2.    After 10 minutes, remove the first mask and exfoliate the leftover blackheads and whiteheads using a cotton swab or the comedo remover (optional)

the first mask

3.    Wash your nose lightly around the area you want to treat and put on the second mask for another 10 minutes.

It's very calming - just like how it feels when
I'm treating my face to a sheet mask
4.    After which, take off the mask and rub in the essence.

how my nose looks like after removing the second mask

 And here's the end result:

alright you guys! Let’s now talk about my nose – hahaha!

Now that I've used Steps 1-3, it really feels different. My nose feels and looks so clean and super smooth. It’s nothing like the ordinary sticky nose strips that you can buy elsewhere. It’s more like a sheet mask so it didn't feel like I was having a pore strip session, but rather, a nose spa treatment. The whole process is really relaxing. 100% pain-free, man! And did I get any breakouts after using this? NO. Unlike other pore strips which have the tendency to lead you into a trap – an unexpected breakout due to enlarged pores after the whole process, this one definitely handle that situation completely well. So seriously, who wouldn't want this?

Any Downsides?
The only downside I can think of (at the moment) is the fact that it didn't permanently get rid of my blackheads as I can see ‘em again the next day.

Nevertheless, it managed to significantly decrease the amount of blackheads I have which in my opinion is a huge improvement. After all, I have only used this stuff twice so I can’t expect a super dramatic change, can I? I’ll finish this whole pack of goodies and after that I’ll go ahead and purchase it.

Speaking of, if you’re from Singapore and you’re interested to try this for yourself, wait no more and head out now to your nearest Watson’s store to grab this baby! For only S$28.90 you’ll get to have 10 sheets each of Steps 1 and 2 and a 15ML tube of Step 3. As for the comedo remover, if you really feel like you badly need it, just click on this link below, because it’s only available at Bellabox webshop:

The good news doesn't end there! If you’ll purchase it from Bellabox webshop, you can enjoy a 15% off of your purchase. Just click here:

And before you even ask, the answer is NO. I’m not getting a single cent out of this. Hahaha. I’m basically just sharing my wonderful experience which might help you if you also suffer from blackheads and whiteheads like I do.

100 % YES! This process of eliminating blackheads and whiteheads without even a minute hint of pain is just tremendously marvelous.

I recommend this to EVERYONE who has blackheads! This revolutionary way of removing blackheads is simply what we need if we want that smooth nose without having to experience the pain of extraction in a derma clinic. Although I have to say that if you’re one of those who enjoy the pain of extraction because I know a lot who does, then I perfectly would understand if ever you decide to pass on this one. What can I do? It truly is PAINLESS! *wink wink*

Disclaimer: Yes, I was sent these products for free but I don’t get paid to review them nor have obligations to give positive feedback  All my opinions in this blogpost are based on my personal experience and honest judgment of the product/s tested and reviewed.

SEPHORA HAUL: Soap & Glory Bath and Body Products (Singapore)

A few weekends ago, (February 2, to be exact) my husband and I were invited to our friend's house for a double birthday bash. The good friends that we are, (sorry for the self-flattery, can’t help it, LOL - just kidding mah!) we, of course, didn't want to go there empty-handed, so we agreed to stop by at Sephora to check out some cool birthday stuff for our two celebrants.

I started to look through the various shelves of different makeup palettes but my heart couldn't decide which to get from the large varieties available. I then moved towards the makeup brushes section and even though there’s these two sets that I think the birthday girl would like, I just didn't feel it would make her super happy. I mean, this is how I decide on what gifts to give to my friends: I put myself into the recipient's shoes. If I would not only be happy that I got a gift but also would love the gift that I got, then that should be THE gift! As simple as that!

In short, none of the numerous attractive and exciting makeup palettes and brushes appeared good enough to me to go ahead and label one of them as a “birthday gift”. So I continued roaming around until I reached the Soap & Glory section, where I stopped and immediately got enchanted by those lovely pink bottles and jars of goodness. While I was at that spot, I got carried away that I started checking and smelling each of the testers. I even caught myself looking to my left and right if there’s any hint of my husband coming and catching me having this short-lived romance with Soap & Glory products. It seriously was like having a secret love affair. LOL. Okay, maybe that was too much.

It was at that instance that my hubby caught up with me and he spotted this birthday box from Soap & Glory. It really looked so adorable and I instantly liked it. We agreed on getting it, when the saleslady offered this “SMOOTH OVER, DARLING” Gift Set also from Soap &Glory, which contains four full-sized bath and body products and one pink shower puff (and yes, it’s PINK!) for S$89. Wait, there’s more! They were having a 50% Off Sale, which conveniently made this super amazing gift set just half the price (of course, they get that! Not everyone sucks at Math like you do, Becca – duh!).

It’s an obvious love at first sight (or should I say, first smell?), so we just had to get it for our friend. It didn't end there though, hahaha. Since I've already been too engrossed with Soap & Glory products that day, not yet mentioning the awesome 50% off sale, I thought of trying my luck with my hubby… I… uhm… let's just say, I cajoled him for a treat (shy grin).

I can, of course, buy this set with my own money, but since it’s already been decided beforehand that we’ll be using his credit card for our Sephora purchases that day, I cajoled him into getting that same set for ourselves, too. Well… I guess my charm that day was simply irresistible (victory grin). Nah! Truth is, I know he'd still buy it even without me asking 'coz he's really like that: a generous and loving man.

So there you have it – the complete story behind the purchase of this super lovely and adorable gift set, which I will be doing a full-on review pretty soon.

Here's a video of my Soap & Glory Haul:

Bellabox Singapore: February 2013 (Valentine's Day Themed Box)

Hello everyone! I know it's not a weekday and I usually don't blog during weekends but let's just say that today is an exception. After getting all caught up with my favorite series namely Once Upon A Time, Revenge, The Vampire Diaries and The Carrie Diaries (whew! ain't that a lot?!) I suddenly felt the urge to visit my blog and even update it. So here I am.

Also, I felt like I've been missing this blog a whole lot lately. It's like I haven't really connected with you guys through this blog for the past weeks and that's just really not cool at all. So again, my apologies for being a little distant these past days. Okay! Let's get the ball rolling, shall we?!

I'll start with sharing with you all my February Bellabox. I received it before Chinese New Year and I was all giddy that day because I was really looking forward for this box since the start of February. Well, you know! All excited for a Valentine's Day themed box. So here goes my unboxing video:

Like I said in the video, I wasn't too happy about the products I got yet I'm not totally dissatisfied. I've been having this bad breakouts lately and if any of these new received items will work for me, then this box is heaven sent after all!

I like the black wrapping paper with all those
heart shapes -  it looks classy and cute at the same time! :)
As I have mentioned in the video, the first thing that caught my eye in this box is the envelope with my name printed on it.

Inside was a card saying I'm invited to their blogger event. Well, that was awesome! I love being invited to events, and meeting other bloggers is definitely going to be loads of fun. I am already looking forward to it!

Moving on, here are all the products I got, their descriptions and my little reaction for each item as usual:

The Adonis Dermatox Anti-Toxin is a purification solution to clear congested pores and remove toxins from within the skin. When applied, there would be a pungent smell due to the reaction between the product and the toxins in the skin which will reduce with frequent use. Suitable for all skin types.

My Reaction: Well, well, well! If this product can really unclog pores then my experience with it is certainly gonna be divine! I can't wait to start using it, although I'm a little bit scared of how pungent its smell is gonna be. Oh well...

With seven botanical ingredients, the Adonis Herbal Peel Gel exfoliates the skin gently to remove dead skin cells, revealing a brighter a smoother skin tone after use.

My Reaction: Due to my recurring breakouts, I'm now in this endless search of the right exfoliating face scrub. I am really crossing my fingers on this one. I'd love to do a full-on review on this product should it work miracles for me.

AVANCé dou demaquillant super (100 ML / s$28.90)
Gentle on the delicate eye area, the Avancé Dou DemaquillantSuper is an effective eye makeup remover that cleans off waterproof makeup. The Chamomile extract and Trehalose gently moisturizes while soothing the eye area.

My Reaction: What can I say? I haven't really come across an extraordinary makeup remover and I haven't tried this item yet so I don't know what to say about it at the moment. I loved my bioderma but I ran out of it already and I haven't had the time repurchase it. I'm currently using the one from silkygirl. So, I don't know. Once I tried it, I might just give a shoutout to its performance in any of my next posts.

The Lanvin Marry me was created with the intention to suggest the strong bond that women have with their perfume. With fruity top notes of Bitter Orange, Freesia and Peach, the Lanvin marry me is a playful marriage of feminine and flirty. Available at all major department stores.
30 ML / S$76
50 ML / S$108
75 ML / S$136

My Reaction: It says fruity on the description but it reminds me more of a flower scent than of a fruit's. Anyway, it smells good but that's all I can say for now.

Highly valued for its rich moisturizing properties, the Shea butter in the institute du Karité Extra Gentle Body Milk is able to protect and nourish skin against environmental damage. Delicately scented, the Extra Gentle Body Milk also provides essential vitamins for skin revitalization and elasticity and is suitable for all skin types.

My Reaction: I really find its packaging weird. I mean, it's not bad, I'm just not used to it, I guess. It really reminds me of our water color paint tubes back in college. Anyway, I really like how it smells. I love anything that smells clean and feminine at the same time. It's also non greasy which is a major plus for me. This will come really handy as I'll be travelling overseas next month.

Aside from the sample products, I also received these amazing surprises: two complimentary facial experience vouchers from Adonis which are both valid for 6 months. Ain't that awesome!

As soon as I get an appointment with them and finally go for it, I'll share with you all the experience.
